Apple /// Dimensions is a newsletter produced by Apple that was introduced as part of the extensive Apple /// recall/upgrade program. Articles tended to focus on providing information to dealers and users about how to get their faulty computers replaced or upgraded, and to announce upcoming products. Much of the content consisted of “advertorial” and marketing propaganda, but there were some very informative technical pieces scattered throughout the newsletter’s run.
Once Apple completed the recall / upgrade program, Apple /// Dimensions was discontinued. In the final issue, editor Megan Carroll wrote,
As we mentioned in the very first issue, III Dimensions was established as a vehicle to transmit information to Apple Ill owners in a concise and timely fashion. Even at that time, a corporate newsletter was planned for the Fall of 1982, but there was a tremendous amount of information that we felt could not wait until the arrival of Apple on Apples, the Magazine for Apple Computer Users. To that end, the first edition of III Dimensions was published in March, with the intention of continuing publication until the corporate newsletter was introduced. As the first edition of Apple on Apples will be available this Fall, this will be the last issue of II Dimensions. We hope that you have enjoyed both reading and learning from Ill Dimensions, but it is now time for us to move on.
Apple /// Dimensions subscribers were offered a free copy of the upcoming Apple on Apples.
