Karate Champ

Karate Champ was originally developed for the arcades by Technos Japan under license from Data East.

If you’re wondering why the Apple II port isn’t (quite) as terrible as Data East’s other home titles, it’s because Berkeley Softworks was responsible for the conversion and Data East stuck to handling distribution duties.

The Apple II version is found on the back side of a “flippy disk”, opposite the C64 port.  Flippy disks were a popular way for discount software distributors like Data East to save on costs.
